About Me

Margaret Adams is a working Artist and Art Teacher

I am a painter with a varied background. Currently I am enjoying painting with wax. I mix beeswax with oil paint  hardened with dammar resin. I often incorporate old metal I find in Mexico as well as gravel, pieces of scrap paper and anything else that creates a spark of interest. My work is usually abstract with a leaning to towards landscape.

Working with the children in Mexico I use acrylics on large pieces of paper or board. By working in a larger format the children are freed up exploring out of their comfort range in both colour and size. Many of the children have never used paint in this way before. It only takes a few minutes for them to find their style and focus. Without exception they are thrilled and excited with the results.

Donations

I have received a couple of questions regarding donating money and school supplies and how to do that. Here are a few suggestions:

1: It is really easy to email money. In your online bank account you will find an area that says “Email Money” just follow the instructions your bank provides. You will have to send us an email with a password so that we can deposit the money into our bank. Email to meadams68@yahoo.ca We will provide a full accounting of donations on this web site.

2: Mail school supplies to us before November 1st. 2008.

3: Bring supplies down when you are visiting, or give to a friend that will be in Puerto Vallarta this winter and we will arrange to pick them up.

There is no way to mail anything to us in Chacala. All correspondence will be through email so please ask us questions, make suggestions, or give us ideas at anytime this winter and we will follow up as best we can.
